Mexico is a wonderful place to travel. Many visitors come every year to visit Mexico City and take away so many beautiful memories and souvenirs from here. Just like the other cities of the world, there are specific travel requirements for Mexico. The latest policy that has not been applied yet but it will be valid from June 2009, that is, you will need an original U.S passport to re-enter USA if you have travelled to Mexico by land, sea or air.

You will find immense number of travel guides once you have reach in the premises of Mexico but they will only assist you if you would have entered the territory legally and with all the permission from your home country. People who reside in the U.S.A are often in the habit of travelling across the border to destinations like Canada and Mexico. In order to enter the borders of Mexico, US citizens need a passport or a photo ID like driving license or a certified birth certificate. If you want to stay up to 180 days then there is no requirement of visa, However if you are planning for an extensive trip or immigration then there is a requirement of visa.

If you are a British National, you need a British passport and must carry a tourist card. If you have endorsed British citizen passport then you may not need a visa to stay in the premises of Mexico for 180 days. If the passport is endorsed as British national Overseas then the limit of visa expiring date shrinks to 90 days. Travelers must have all the required documents to fulfill the travel requirements of Mexico. All the other necessary documents include birth certificates, visa papers, National Identity card, Driving license, etc. The travel requirements for Mexico are same for Canadian and Australian citizens.

The South African citizens need a valid passport, visa and a tourist card or FMT form with the stamp of the counselor. The visa is valid for 90 days only. Travelling for 90 days is more than enough and the 90 day visa is valid for one entry only. Sufficient funds to travel by air, land or sea are required. Similar is the case for new Zealanders and Australians.

It is highly recommended to first visit a free international travel guide from the internet and then plan a trip to Mexican city. A primary Mexico travel requirement is to hold a tourist card which is known as FMT form. This form is available free of cost. It can be obtained from airlines offices, Mexican consulates, Mexican international airports and crossing points of borders. As per the requirement of WHTI, the travelers are required to present passport or other valid identification document to re-enter the USA.
