Speaking The Langauge

Trying to learn a new language can be very difficult indeed. As a child it is generally accepted that you are able to pick up these skills quickly and as you get older it becomes more difficult. For example I took some French language lessons where the emphasis was on learning the grammatical structure which caused a lot of confusion. It is essential to know these things but it makes it very difficult to actually converse easily with somebody else when this is the way you have been taught. I have also used a learn French CD which was more helpful as you can actually follow along with the phrases and hear them being spoken.

The difficulty in learning can be overcome if you can actually immerse yourself in a country and language but this is often not possible. But even just visiting a place for a brief time and making every effort to converse with the local people should bring about some major changes. This is often the problem with learning far removed from the culture as you do not get to really be a part of it and so are purely learning in an educational manner.
