Ancient China

Ancient China has its roots to some of the oldest civilizations in living history.  The Chinese have gone to great lengths to preserve this timeless heritage.  Most notably is the Great Wall of China, spanning a length of nearly four thousand miles and can be viewed from space.  This wall was used in time to protect its sprawling empire from Central Asian conquistadors looking to loot and pillage Chinas rich heritage and take ownership of her vast lands.

The ancient literature today is still richly regarded as some of the finest historical accounts into the amazing history of this country.  They offer an amazing window into the ancient culture, clothing, habits and more interestingly the emperors ruling hand.  The authors of these scripts are deeply respected and regarded within Chinese culture.

  

Many of Chinas ancient myths and stories have been handed down through hundreds of generations.  Mostly timeless in their accounts they can be applied to almost any time period.   People are often familiar with old Chinese proverbs which always offer an interesting insight into the old mind sets of old.

One of the most famous and ancient of Chinese symbolism is the dragon.  This symbol is seen by many as a showing of, faith, power, strength and even freedom.  Nearly all celebrations will include huge street celebrations with the snaking, dancing dragon being at the center of attention of nearly all events. 

             

China is most famous for its amazing religious structures.  Buddhism became very prominent in the early part of it history and can be seen today reflected in amazing temples, statues and landmarks.  The Forbidden City is well worth a visit and offers a breath taking glimpse into the ancient Chinese dynasties that ruled long ago.
